Officer, AML Compliance Mumbai – India

Better requires a process, discipline, and simplification
- We’ll be looking for you to evaluate consumer activity through transaction monitoring using available internal tools/reports and initiate actions to reduce risk to the company.
- To conduct various activities aimed at identifying AML risks at agent / partner locations.
- Support in investigating consumer/agent activity and ensure proper case management processes are adhered to record actions.
- Support in developing review parameters to evaluate consumer / agent / partner adherence to country regulations and WU polices.
- Coordinating with WU Global teams like KYC, FRM, FIU etc. to ensure appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the risk identified at agent or consumer level.
- Evaluate, train and test internal controls and anti-money laundering compliance programs for agents through transaction analyses, compliance reviews and training sessions.
- Support agents/sub-agents’ efforts to comply with Western Union policies and procedures as applicable to AML&CFT.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain good rapport and provide AML Compliance support to WU Agent partners of Western Union to build programs that are in compliance with anti-money laundering laws as they apply to MSB.
- Provide AML Compliance support to agents to ensure their respective compliance and anti-money laundering programs meet regulatory requirements / WU standards ;
- To provide support to the AML Compliance Manager in running the day to day departmental tasks and not limited to implementing and enforcing the Local Regulations and WU AML compliance policies, procedures, and programs designed to minimize potential money laundering risk for Western Union and its affiliates, within the established strategies of the WU Global AML compliance.
- Provide all logistics related support during audits.
- Participate / conduct training for staff of WU Agent Partners. Support in any AML related or project activity assigned by the Manager / Supervisor.
- Limited Travel (upto 25% but may increase later) when required to identify / assess risks at Agent Locations or impart training to staff of WU Agent Partners
Eligibility Requirements
- For such a detail-oriented role, Min. 2-3 years of experience in a Compliance / Risk Management function.
- Holder of Masters/Bachelor’s educational degree. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in excel.
- Experience in a data analytical role will be an advantage. Experience in retail/consumer financial services/payment services organizations with exposure to transaction monitoring would be an advantage.\
- Knowledge of local AML regulations and regulatory reporting requirements would be an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team. Willing to periodically travel for agent meetings/reviews.
- Fluency in Hindi, English and regional languages.
