Description:
SQL Administrator will be part of the Information Management (IM) function.
The SQL L3 Admin should have hands-on experience in both the development and support of SQL Database and would be working in close cooperation with the application owner and architect. The consultant would play a key role in managing and maintaining a sound production environment. In addition, the consultant should be experienced in end-to-end incident/problem management. The consultant will work in an international, distributed, and multi-functional team; using an agile mindset and methodology.
Responsibilities
- The role will be involved in support of a highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and deployment of midrange systems along with a team of technically competent professionals.
- Understanding and Performing tasks related to Implementation, Design installation and configuration of all Database products.
- Coordinate and manage multiple problems and projects with different teams at the same time
- Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability
- Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems
- Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments
- Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design.Provide L3 level support
- Candidate must have the ability to create business cases and present the architecture and design that they create
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
- Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team members/leads/customer/Senior management, as needed
- Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate the Database Server Hardware/Software and recommend optimization balance
- Define/Recommend/Maintain database Standards and Architecture
- Future Release management for database/instance and Impact Analysis.
- Research/Recommend Migration/Up gradation
- Installation & Configuration of MS SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016
- Configuration knowledge in Advanced features of SQL Server 2012/2014/2016.
- Develop, implement, administer and maintain security and integrity of the Application databases.
- Advance Database Performance Tuning – Instance, Database, OS Parameters
- Should be able to perform database reorganization
- Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies
- Good Working experience of Installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting of Failover Clustering, Always on Availability, Mirroring, Log shipping,
- Having experience of DR setup through various sync methods.
- Designing strategy towards Capacity Management (Growth) for DB tracks.
- Recommending Database Security Policy, Auditing
- Awareness of latest database trends and Technologies
- Configuration experience in SQL Server Integration & Reporting Services
- Knowledge in Cloud Integration
- Extensive hands-on technical skills to cover installation, configuration, administration and advanced troubleshooting
- Experience of working on ITIL ticketing systems (SNOW, Remedy), understand ITIL framework
- Experience in representation in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- – Strong verbal/written communication skills
