JOB DESCRIPTION
Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of push to talk communications solution provided by Kodiak, A Motorola solutions company. He/she will build tools that automate the monitoring of infrastructure, network, and application services provided by Motorola.
Basic Requirements
Responsibilities:
1) Automate monitoring of network performance, application performance and service integrity.
2) Collaborate with software and systems engineers, product teams, and application support to improve software delivery, configuration, monitoring, and operations.
3) Understand complex network and application infrastructure and build tools that help engineers to monitor, triage and troubleshoot issues from the network all the way through the application stack in public and private cloud environments.
4) Gain and disseminate deep knowledge of push to talk communications solution provided by Motorola solutions for ensuring reliability and maintainability of hardware, software processes, network facilities, controls, and security systems leveraged by the product.
5) Own end-to-end availability and performance of key network and application services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
6) Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems in a large sophisticated application environment.
SKILLS
Must have:
Docker , Kubernetes
Python , javascript or golang
Expertize in no SQL databases
Microservices and service discovery
Good to have:
Azure , AWS or GCP experience
Understanding of basic networking protocols like tcp, udp , dns http etc
Monitoring frameworks like nagios , graphite and Elastic search

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- B.E./B.Tech(CS/IT) or Masters
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Strong understanding of cloud technology
- Expertize in any one programming language
- Strong experience with microservices and containers is a plus
