JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Design, architect and layout high speed digital and analog IOs with robust ESD performance.
- The position is for the MCHP USB & Networking group located in Hyderabad, India.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Specification of block-level and top-level mixed-signal and analog designs
- Behavioral modeling of mixed-signal and analog block
- Transistor-level analog circuit design, Circuit-level and mixed-mode simulation and verification.
- Schematic generation and simulation on modern CAD tools (Cadence tool set)
- Oversee layout design. Document and drive formal reviews
- Define bench validation plans
- Perform circuit characterization and validation in a lab environment
- Interaction and work with global design teams
- ESD Circuit design for: DDRx, GPIO, HSIC and high speed IOs
- Design of ESD protection clamps and implementation of latch-up protection in I/O pads.
- Simulate the I/O pads to guarantee data sheet functionality and timing.
- Interface with and support applications, product and test engineering, marketing, development systems, technology development, CAD, layout and other design organizations.
- Will work closely with Digital Design Team on implementation details.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
What do we expect from you?
- Analysis of complex systems using hand and computer tools
- Responsible for specification, architecture, design and development of integrated circuits from initial concept through production ramp up.
- Perform analog design/verification for I/O pad functions: High Speed I/O, Transmitters, Bandgap, Regulator, POR, Schmitt trigger, output drivers, analog switches etc.
- Collaborate and develop solutions with internal cross functional teams.
- Generate relevant documentation.
- Performing simulation/verification across different scenarios, corners and mismatches
- Work closely with the design engineers and layout engineers in designing and successfully hand-off of design
- Significant experience with Cadence and other analog and mixed-signal IC design tools.
- Knowledge in device physics, low power and high-speed design techniques are essential.
- Knowledge of Verilog, Liberty timing and IBIS models.
- Knowledge of a scripting language (ie. TCL, PERL, SKILL, etc…)
- Excellent technical, verbal and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability and willingness to work on multiple projects and technologies at any given time.
- Exposure to analog subcircuits (ie Voltage Reg, PLL, BGR, etc…)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred Skills/ Experience
- Bachelors or Masters in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering
- Perform analog design/verification for I/O pad functions: High Speed I/O, Transmitters, Bandgap, Regulator, POR, Schmitt trigger, output drivers, analog switches etc.
- Good understanding of advanced semiconductor technology process and device physics. (CMOS/Bi-CMOS/Power-FET technologies
- Experience executing functional verification and mixed-mode simulation
- Ability to solve complex design problems
- Ability meet aggressive timelines
- Ability to multi-task in an evolving project environment
- Ability to budget time, manage schedule and complete complex IC design tasks on time with little to no supervision
- Understanding of semiconductor IC processing, semiconductor packaging, and production test solutions
- Working experience in using Power Supplies, Source meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab equipment, to validate analog designs
- Experience working with production test engineers to firm up design for test and test plan details
Must be highly focused and remain committed to obtaining closure on project goals.
