About Craste

Craste works towards mitigating climate change by using renewable materials such as crop waste. This waste is usually burnt post-harvest leading to severe air pollution. We repurpose this waste by creating sustainable packaging and furniture products.

Job Overview

Craste is looking for a product development engineer for it’s project related to creating bio composites using crop residue. The application of this material will be in packaging as an alternative to single use plastics or Styrofoam.

The candidate should have hands on experience in polymer composite compounding & characterization. Understanding filler -matrix interactions and ability to create formulations that are able to meet performance criteria for a given application. Additionally, knowledge of 3D printing, injection molding, extrusion molding is appreciated.

Your role

Planning and performing laboratory experiments
Contributes to the value proposition development for technical projects and programs
Measuring mechanical properties of the product
Using statistical tools to analyzing experimental results and preparing technical reports

Your expertise:

1Bachelor’s in Engineering (Preferably Chemical/Pulp & Paper/Polymer/Mechanical or equivalent)
Can take ownership of the experiments and can get things done

Great communication and interpersonal skills
Candidates with computational modelling experience will be preferred
